Recycling Video Write Up

I had to change my original idea to something that I could easily create.

One of the main problems I had was that I had no access to a camera so had to use pictures to create my video

I had no actors to take part in my film and even if I did I couldn't film them.

To make up for my lack of equiptment I produced my own track to go with the video.

I got good feeback on the track so was happy with that , I also made the video go in time with the song for example when the song drops pictures of recycling and how you can do your part appear on the screen.

This is my updated storyboard for my finished video.

I had no issues with budget or health and safety because I did everything on my computer at home without having to go out of my way to pay for anything and health and safety really isn't an issue at home. In future Im going to have to invest in a camera so that I can improve my work so that comes under the catagory of budget it just doesn't really apply to this recycling video.

I had a few copyright issues with the photos that I used in my video. I didn't go to the owners of the pictures and ask for permmision to use them so if I was using this video on a mass scale and making money off it , its very likely that somebody would sue me for copyright infrigment.

I had to make editorial decisions as far as deciding what pictures I wanted in my video and I had to edit the video so that the music and the images were in sync , I feel that I did this well and I had to spend a while getting it just right. In some of the feeback I got , it was clear people liked the link beetween the music and the images.

Next time I make a video Im going to have to get hold of a camera because although people liked my video I didn't have any recorded footage in it which people criticised when they gave me feedback.

This is the write up I did about my original ideas.

Recycling Film Overview
The point in this film is to educate and inform about the benefits of recycling and the damage that’s caused when people don’t bother to recycle.
This film is going to be directed at kids and teenagers because adults often already understand the point in recycling and that it’s beneficial to the planet. To make it appeal to younger audiences I’m going to keep everything interesting and not talk about the same thing for too long or talk about something boring. The film is going to be kept to sixty seconds because the younger generations have a tiny attention span.
I’m going to also use a soundtrack that appeals to a younger audience because every device that can be used to grab my audience’s attention should be used, I’m going to make the soundtrack myself and will probably use some dubstep and drum and bass because these appeal to young audiences.
The tag line for the movie is going to be “Wipe out Waste”. This tag line is quick and easy to remember so it helps people remember the film which is what I’m aiming for.
I need to include an explanation of what can and be recycled because teenagers might not be aware of what gets recycled.
This is my original storyboard you can see that the whole idea has completely changed as I had to adapt to my serious lack of equiptment.
Story Board
Fade In From White
I’m going to start with a close up of a can on the ground.
Then pan to a wider shot of everybody walking past it ignoring it.
Drum and bass music creeps in and gets louder and louder.
Close up of feet sprinting .
Cuts back to can
Cuts back to feet sprinting.
Close up of hand picking up the can.
